The Environment Minister says he's hopeful Cabinet can agree on an emissions reduction target for Agriculture today.
A decrease of 22% to 30% must be set under the Climate Action Plan.
Last night's leaders meeting concluded without getting that figure nailed down.
However, on his way into Cabinet this morning, Minister Eamon Ryan says he's keen to do that today:
"Hoping to close the differences and agree on the approach today, it's very significant for every section of our society and we've got to make sure that change will be for the better. Good for farmers, good for transport, good for energy, good for employment, good for protecting us against cost of living. So it will take a bit of time but I'm hopefully we can get agreement today."
