The Department of Housing says the number of people on social housing waiting lists has fallen by 36 per cent since 2016.
Seven years ago, there were 91,000 households on waiting lists for homes, while now figures show it's at 57,000.
The four local authorities in Dublin have nearly 25,000 on their waiting lists.
