Plans to doubles fines for illegal parking from next month will only work if the rules are enforced.
The head of the Disability Federation of Ireland says an awareness campaign is needed to tell people that blocking paths, bus lanes and bike tracks is wrong.
John Dolan says it's not just rude but dangerous:
"If somebody is vision impaired or blind, if somebody is vulnerable in terms of their mobility and things like that, these things are massive obstacles to them. It's not just a little inconvenience or a blip. These people sometimes have to go out onto the road if they can manage to do that."
