Dogs Trust is launching a new campaign today called 'Not Just a Dog' which is calling on employers to offer time off work on compassionate grounds for pet bereavement.
A survey found that 51% of people said their dog's death was like losing a family member, while 72% admit to having more photos on their phones of their dog than their partner or family members.
