The winner of Saturday’s record €19 million Lotto jackpot has made contact with National Lottery HQ.
It comes after it was confirmed yesterday that the winning ticket was sold in Castlebar, County Mayo. The winning numbers for Saturday night’s draw were 02, 09, 16, 30, 37, 40 and the bonus was 23.
The jackpot was the biggest ever in the history of the National Lottery, which has been rolling over since last June.
The owner of the shop that sold last weekend’s Lotto jackpot says she is in shock.
Officials from National Lottery headquarters arrived on Laura Scriney’s doorstep to reveal that the winning ticket was bought in her XL store in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
But store owner Laura Scriney says she’s still in the dark about who the winner is.
“It’s indescribable. There was rumours going around town all week as to who it could be, or who the winning shop could be.
“Never once did I think it was going to be this shop, so I got an awful shock last night when I saw the two people from the National Lottery on the doorstep, but it was a great feeling.
“We wish the winner the best of luck – we have no idea who they are but we do know that it was a quick pick bought either Friday or Saturday.”
149 tickets matched five numbers plus the bonus and shared a prize fund of €5.5 million meaning each ticket is worth over €36,000. 12 store locations in Cork were found to have sold tickets worth €36k.
