The Green Party leader has denied there was any pressure from his coalition colleagues to sanction rebel TDs.
Neasa Hourigan and Patrick Costello were suspended from the Parliamentary Party for six months last night after voting with the opposition on a motion regarding the National Maternity Hospital.
It's a stricter sanction than previously given by the Greens and leaves the Government with a majority of just one.
Green Party leader Eamon Ryan thinks in practice the Government will continue to win votes.
"I haven't seen a vote that's been close in the Dail, it is tight but I think it's a well functioning and stable and committed government.
"There are three projects that this Government has to deliver on, the housing crisis, bringing health reform and showing a real leap in climate change."
