The Environment Minister will attend the Cop26 climate change summit in Glasgow today.
Eamon Ryan had tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday, and had initially cancelled plans to attend.
However he had a second PCR test which came back negative - and was given the green light to travel.
Colm Brophy, Minister of State for Development Aid, is also attending and says it's good that the Environment Minister can attend.
"I think that is really good news for the Irish team attending COP.
"We have been supported by a very strong presence at COP in terms of our ministerial team.
"It's very important that Ireland's voice is heard very clearly.
"I think we have very good and very strong positions in terms of what we're talking about at COP, and it's great that Eamon Ryan will be there."
