It's appears 'inevitable' the Mica redress scheme will be extended to other counties, according to an expert group.
Last year a scheme was announced to compensate homeowners in Counties Donegal and Mayo affected by defective blocks.
Consideration is being given to extend coverage to Clare, Sligo, Limerick and Tipperary .
However, a report by an expert group to advise the Housing Minister on the scheme is warning the problem may be far more widespread than feared.
According to the report, it is not clear how many homes in additional counties may be impacted though.
