It's over two breaches and Meta Ireland has been directed to bring its data processing operations into compliance within a period of 3 months.
The latest fines are on the back of complaints made the day GDPR came into operation in Ireland in May 2018.
Users of the services were met with an ‘I accept’ button, to indicate their acceptance of new Terms of Service before the Data Privacy Legislation came into effect, but the services would not be accessible to users if they declined to do so.
A fine of €210 million was issued in response to the Facebook claim and €180 million in the Instagram.
