Family Carers are being reassured over letters advising them about changes to their Carers' Allowance.
The letters from the Department of Social Protection request new documentation from families, and warn that failure to comply could see funds cancelled.
However Catherine Cox from Family Carers Ireland says the review is really intended to help - by introducing new budget measures to increase the number of carers who qualify.
"This is a good news story but there is a very, I suppose, short timeline. And when carers need to get the information back into the Department, but also that they all the information and sign the declaration, back into the Department within those 14 days. So there is a lot of work for the carers in the 14 days but hopefully it will work to their benefit and bring a lot more people into the net."
