The family of Co Cavan businessman Seán Quinn have succeeded in having news reports about their lifestyles removed from Google searches.
The information came into the public domain during legal proceedings arising from the former billionaire's bankruptcy.
Anglo Irish Bank successor company IBRC had secured judgments totalling 440 million euro against the Quinn children.
The de-listed reports, which are still hosted by their publishers, include court reports and accounts of the Quinns' lavish lifestyles.
Shane Phelan, Legal Affairs Editor at the Irish Independent, says the Quinns made a "right to be forgotten" application:
"That law has been around since 2014. There was a Court of Justice for the EU ruling, which basically establish a right for people, for an individual to ask an internet search engine to de-list certain search results, which appeared when that person's name was entered into into the search engine."
