Fears have been expressed this year's record breaking Leaving Cert results will lead to more students not getting the college course they want.
Yesterday's results showed a significant increase in the number of students achieving over 600 points, meaning colleges could be forced to randomly select students for in-demand courses.
The Irish Times reports high achievers applying for courses like dentistry, law and medicine could face 'random selection' when CAO offers come out next Tuesday.
