Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Green Party will have talks this morning on forming a new government.
Negotiators from all three parties will hold discussions, in a process that's likely to last for several weeks.
There remain policy differences between the parties, particularly around the Greens' demands on carbon emissions.
Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have also written to the Labour Party, asking it to consider engaging in government-formation talks.
