Fire services around the country are expecting a 'action packed' weekend as Halloween festivities go into full swing.
They are urging the public to enjoy the weekend but to make sure to stay safe.
That includes not buying or using fireworks, only attending organised events, and if attending a bonfire to stay well back.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer with Dublin Fire Brigade, John Guilfoyle, says officers have to deal with routine incidents as well extra callouts due to Halloween:
"We would deal and respond to, in the region of, 90,000 calls on the ambulance side. So there's constant demand on that side. So in addition then we obviously have demand for fire. There's the routine, there are the normal emergencies which is road traffic accidents, fire alarms, domestic fires. So all of this is going on, in addition to the Halloween demand, which will be bonfires, rubbish on fire, antisocial behaviour and so forth."
