From 8 o'clock this Saturday all fire stations will "go dark" as retained fire fighters escalate their strike action.
There will be no internal communications in the county's fire stations "other than life saving information".
The SIPTU Committee says union members feel forced to take the action due to "the failure of government to respond to legitimate concerns".
Retained fire fighters began their industrial action nine weeks ago, citing unfair and unmanageable pay and conditions - saying many stations don’t have enough staff to respond to calls.
The union says if management does not return to the negotiating table by Saturday week, the 19th August, one extra fire station in each county will close every week .
Firefighters believes the government has abandoned the retained fire service and is trying to break the dispute.
50% of stations around the country are already closed at any one time.
