Five Romanian men arrested in Dublin after €1.5m laundered through fake bank accounts

During nine searches in North and West Dublin this morning, Gardai identified a number of bogus companies and bank accounts set up using fake names and 'money mules'.

Gardai have established that the money was laundered through these accounts and was the proceeds of organised prostitution, thefts and cyber scams.

Tech correspondent Jess Kelly says cyber scams are quite common:
