Former Cork Debenhams worker hit out at High Court Injunctions being taken by the liquidator

Former Debenhams Shop Steward Valerie Conlon says their actions were necessary to get KMPG to enter talks

A former Cork Debenhams worker says they knew their actions were unlawful when they occupied the City Centre store last month.

Valerie Conlon's comments come as liquidators KPMG seek High Court injunctions against unlawful actions at Debenham's 11 Irish stores.

In September, eight former staff members entered the Patrick Street store, escalating their actions in the hopes of getting a better redundancy package.

While just last week a number of workers occupied the Debenhams store at the City Square Shopping Centre in Waterford for 5 days.
