She says it does nothing in the way of providing for former Debenhams workers

Earlier today it was announced that Debenhams is to increase its offer to staff by €1 million, and that staff would also be paid one third of profits from the sale of stock.

However, speaking to RedFM News this afternoon, former Shop Steward on Patrick's Street Valerie Conlon says that extra million breaks down to just one extra day of wages per year for Debenhams staff.

She went on to say that the full terms of today's deal were broken to the media before they were presented to Debenhams staff.

Over 2,000 jobs were lost in April when Debenhams announced it would be closing 11 stores in Ireland, including the Patrick's Street and Mahon Point branches.
