A former prison officer says a stronger Garda presence would help to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour.
The Justice Minister Helen McEntee has asked the Garda Commissioner to look into the use of ASBOs for young people.
The orders were first introduced here in 2007, and allow the courts to issue anti-social behaviour warnings to children.
Criminologist John Cuffe says diverting young people from jail is a positive thing, but ASBOs shouldn't be overused.
