Foster carers are at the centre of the healing process for their children.
That's the message at today's Irish Foster Care Association National Conference which will have learning opportunities for adults and activities for kids.
The Children's Minister Roderic O'Gorman who'll attend says he's acutely conscious of the pressures foster parents are experiencing at this time.
Irish Foster Care Association CEO, Catherine Bond says everyone involved in foster care can take part:
"It offers a great opportunity for people to come together. So, at our conference today, we have foster carers, and we have social workers, and social care workers, policymakers, academics. So it was a very enriching conversations that take place throughout the day, where people learn from each other and share experiences. And really, the objective is that people come and gain more information about how they can best support children in the care system".
