French students looking to study in Ireland should be extra vigilant not to get scammed when looking for somewhere to stay.
That's according to the French Embassy in Ireland, which says an acute shortage of accommodation has led to scammers taking advantage of struggling students.
It's also warned there's a severe shortage of housing here nationwide, and rents are now more expensive than Paris, even for shared properties.
A note on the embassy website also lists a number of information sources for prospective renters here, including the Residential Tenancies Board and various Facebook groups.
