There are fresh calls to make today the last time Ireland rolls back clocks to winter time.
At two o'clock this morning, the official time reset to 1am as daylight savings time ended.
Plans to scrap the clock change across the EU have been stalled since 2019.
Fine Gael MEP Seán Kelly says fears Britain might press on with daylight savings shouldn't hold up progress:
"It's a possibility but I don't know it will happen. I think it'd be foolish for us in Ireland to be saying, Oh, we can't change in case the British wouldn't change but Europe should say we're changing. And the British I think, reflecting the 80% plus of respondents from the United Kingdom, wanting change will do likewise."
