Fuel prices are expected to reach record highs over the next week - costing over two euro a litre.
It's because of an EU ban on diesel from Russia, which is expected to stay at a higher price than petrol.
The AA's advising drivers to fill their tank with petrol or diesel in one go, reduce speed on motorways and make sure their tyre pressure is right.
AA Ireland spokesperson, Paddy Comyn, says fuel on motorways and in the cities will be more costly:
"Generally prices on Main motorways tend to be the highest so you know across the motorway network you'll see prices tend to be the highest there but also obviously in the capital, in and around Dublin, you'll see the highest prices also Cork, Galway places like that."
