The price of petrol and diesel here has again hit record levels.
According to AA Roadwatch Ireland, the average cost of a litre of petrol is now €2.13 per litre, while a litre of diesel is €2.05.
Fuel prices have went up 11% in the past fortnight.
Paddy Comyn from AA Roadwatch says prices are only going one way:
"It now costs the average motorist of a petrol car €750 more than last year to fill their car for a year, with the average diesel driver spending €640 more per year than last year. Certainly, for now it looks like they're going up significantly judging by such an increase over the last two weeks, so if they increase at this rate, then it looks like it's only a matter of time before they reach €2.50 per litre."
