The funeral will take place today of Bishop David O'Connell.
He was gunned down in Los Angeles last month.
Bishop O'Connell was a native of Brooklodge in Glanmire and was ordained as a priest at All Hallows College, Dublin for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 1979.
He was then ordained as an Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese in 2015, and he served his mission in many parishes across Los Angeles.
The 69 year-old was shot dead in his home in Hacienda Heights in LA on Saturday, February 18th and he received a gunshot would to his chest.

A Funeral Mass will get underway at 11am local time at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Los Angeles.
A Mass of remembrance will take place at a later date in his home parish of Glounthaune, Cork.
