Gardaí are appealing for information on the 35th anniversary of the disappearance of a Dublin schoolboy.
13-year-old Philip Cairns vanished without trace as he walked home from Coláiste Éanna in Ballyroan in 1986.
His schoolbag was found in a lane near the school six days later, but the case was never solved.
Former head of Garda cold case unit, Alan Bailey, reviewed the disappearance in the 2000s - but he says no progress was made:
"At no stage were we ever able to recovered the body, or to find out who killed him. It is a most strange and fascinating case in many ways. The fact that he was just a young schoolboy going home from school at lunchtime for his lunch, and just disappearing off the face of the earth. It's a frightening disappearance in many ways really and one that affected all of his friends and schoolmates deeply."
