The Gardaí are appealing to the victims of the Kerry mental health scandal to come forward.

They're considering launching a criminal investigation, and want to speak to the parents of the children affected.

A report found 46 children were 'significantly harmed' after being prescribed inappropriate medication, in South Kerry CAMHS.

Mental Health Minister, Mary Butler, wants the state to settle the cases away from the courts:

"My own preference is that these children and their families would not have to go through lengthy court cases. I believe they have already suffered enough. But I will be bringing to Cabinet on Tuesday a memo in relation to supports to support these families. The memo will will include some details that we are working out in relation to financial support."
