The Garda Commissioner is due to meet with the Policing Authority today, where an update on the mass cancellation of 999 calls and a review into the practice will be heard.
During the summer, it emerged emergency calls were being cancelled by operators since 2019.
However, it subsequently emerged the problem was continuing despite staff training and changes to call and dispatch technology.
Chair of the Oireachtas Justice Committee, Fianna Fail Deputy James Lawless, says there are many questions for Garda Commissioner Drew Harris to answer.
"Unfortunately it appears to have gotten worse, because what might have been considered at the outset to be process and systems failure or human error, which has been an element of it, there does seem to be at least some deliberate dropping of calls.
"I'm told there are disciplinary procedures underway within an Garda Síochána.
"How did this happen? How was it allowed to happen? And how did it go on for so long without being detected?"
