Two Gardai and three sergeants received over €50,000 each in overtime last year.
According to freedom of information figures, one officer got €61,000.
The total bill for Garda overtime in 2021 was €114m, - nearly €15m more than the previous year.
Sinn Féin's justice spokesman, Martin Kenny, is calling for a review into the spending.
"Well, that's very alarming, it's such a large increase in 2021 compared to 2020.
"I mean, it was was a year when we had a huge lockdown, an awful lot of the night-time entertainment and and all of that was closed down. People weren't travelling on the roads as much.
"It's very surprising that the guards are overtime is just such a level. In fact, I would have expected that it would have dropped rather than risen under those circumstances."
