Gardaí have reportedly obtained DNA evidence that they believe will help them identify the person who murdered Ashling Murphy.
The school teacher was killed while jogging near her home in Offaly on Wednesday.
The Times reports that a forensic examination of a mountain bike has produced a DNA profile and fingerprints.
More vigils in memory of Ashling Murphy are beginning today, following similar events attended by thousands yesterday.
These people were at a memorial in the county this morning:
"I don't like the discourse that she was doing the right thing at the right time and that it was daylight and that she, you know... A woman should be able to do anything, at any time, in any place that she chooses.
"It was the middle of the day. She was in somewhere completely public. There were people around and even then, she wasn't safe. And I just think, I mean, it's infuriating, but it's also terrifying because you think you're taking all these measures to protect yourself and even then it's not necessarily enough."
