Gardaí are investigating after an elderly man died in a fire on the grounds of the University of Limerick.
Emergency services responded to the blaze at a house in the Kilmurry Village complex at about 20 to 12 last night.
The man, who's understood to be in his 80s or 90s and an academic, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A technical examination is due to be carried out, along with post-mortem, which will determine the course of the investigation.
