Gardai have charged one of the men they were questioning about an attempt to collect a dead man's pension from a Carlow post office.
The second man being held has been released from custody.
66 year old Peadar Doyle was brought to the post office on Staplestown Road by two men last Friday morning, but staff became suspicious when attempts were made to claim his pension.
The two fled the scene and Gardaí and emergency services were notified, with Mr. Doyle being declared dead a short time later.
The two men being questioned at Carlow Garda station were arrested yesterday.
One of the men has been charged and is scheduled to appear before Carlow District Court this morning.
