The burglaries took place in Cork and Waterford
The arrest was made yesterday and the man is currently being quizzed at Mayfield garda station in connection with burglaries on two dates in May 2018.
At that time the guards responded to reports of a number of burglaries in the Southern Region, a Garda operation was implemented in an attempt to intercept and arrest a suspected offender.
However the man fled the scene in a car and collided with two occupied vehicles, one of which was a Garda car.
No injuries were reported during the incident and investigations have been ongoing since.
