Gardaí have arrested Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch while in prison in Dublin.
He's being held on suspicion of organised crime offences, and was arrested early yesterday morning at Wheatfield prison in Dublin.
The Irish Daily Star reports the 58 year-old was taken from his his cell and brought to a garda station, for questioning on suspicion of directing a crime gang.
It's connected to allegations that criminals were passed intelligence by a retired garda, according to the paper.
He was detained under a special order - called a section 42 - that allows a person in prison to be arrested.
The Monk is currently in prison on remand, and is due to stand trial next week for the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in 2016.
