The Housing Minister survived a motion of confidence in the Dáil last night.
Darragh O'Brien comfortably won the vote with 86 supporters to 63 against with one abstention.
Much of the opposition called for him to go, including Labour's Ged Nash:
"The citizens of Ireland, our society or economy will pay a severe price. Don't want to be flippant or in any way dismissive. Given the seriousness of the crisis that we know. I have more faith and confidence in Santa Claus than I do in this government to fix the housing crisis."
