The HSE says it has been in regular communication with the residents of Garnish House and their temporary placement at the facility on the Western Road.
The residents from a mental health facility at Millfield House were moved to the former bed and breakfast in the city in April 2020, as a temporary measure during the pandemic to provide more space and individual rooms for residents.
At a recent Public Accounts Committee meeting, the Chief Executive of Cork/Kerry Community Healthcare Michael Fitzgerald outlined how it's expected that the residents will be moved from Garnish House before the end of quarter one next year.
Some family members claim that there has been no communication about a move away from the leased facility.
However under questioning from Green TD, Neasa Hourigan the HSE Chief Executive outlined how they have been in regular contact with the residents and their medical teams to ensure they are aware that the service will be moving.
