Hundreds of events are taking place in the coming days to mark Science Week.
Science Foundation Ireland says events are being held virtually and in each county, and there is something there for all ages and interests.
Minister for Further and Higher Education, Simon Harris says Science Week is an important opportunity to showcase the science and research community.
Almost 5-thousand submissions to the Creating Our Future campaign have been received from the public so far, with health and wellbeing, and the environment the most popular topics broached by members of the public.
Submissions to the campaign will run until the end of November.
