Hundreds of sightings of a fireball have been reported over Ireland and the UK.
The International Meteor Organisation has so far recorded 876 reports of a 'glowing flash' in the skies last night.
The UK Meteor Network says initial inquiries indicate the object was space debris.
The network says calculations show the debris would land in the Atlantic ocean, south of the Scottish Hebrides.
Broadcaster and Space expert, Leo Enright, says the fireball was the brightest seen here in months.
