The economy is going through a period of exceptional growth despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
That's according to the quarterly Economic Outlook from the employers body IBEC.
It points out icome growth and significant savings mean the economy will remain strong in 2022.
Chief Economist with IBEC Gerard Brady said however business's will have to adapt to deal with long term labour shortages.
"We've had a few years where there's been little migration into the country, and we have an ageing work force as well, and that means that Labour shortages are probably going to be a feature over the coming years.
"The key for businesses is looking at that is how to improve productivity to make sure we can do more with fewer or the same amount of workers."
