There are 534 patients on trolleys in Irish hospitals today - an increase of 45 from yesterday.
The Irish Medical Organisation say that many younger medics - the GPs and consultants of the future - are going to quit and move abroad to work because of the current conditions.
They also say that the health service is already demanding too much from front-line staff, with some working 80 hours or more per week.
The statement concludes by saying that the crisis will continue unless there’s a radical increase in hospital beds and physical infrastructure.
