A former Magdalene laundry in Dublin, that's due to be turned into a national memorial, has been compared to serial killer Fred West's house.
In an angry outburst during a council meeting last night, Councillor Mannix Flynn slammed the plans saying the building should be demolished.
The Independent rep, who is an abuse survivor, stormed out of the chamber after describing the site as a 'disgusting piece of muck, where wholesale horror took place':
"Dublin City Council itself made a profit out of sending the children into the institutions, and now wants to wipe it's hands of it. If you have any shame at all in you lot, you would demolish this building as a gesture and that would be the gesture for the memorial, that we wiped it off the face of the earth, and we squashed it down into pulp and we threw it away."
