Inflation in Ireland reached almost 10% last month.

EuroStat estimates a rate of 9.6% in the year to June, which is higher than the eurozone average of 8.6%.

It also says energy inflation is running at 41.9% to June.

The figures come as several calls have been made for government to introduce immediate measures to tackle the ongoing cost of living crisis.
