The Irish National Teachers Organisation is calling for clarity on the rollout of antigen testing for primary school children, and the 5 day restriction on movements for households.
A meeting between the primary teachers union and Department of Education is due to take place later. INTO General Secretary, John Boyle, says schools have been under pressure:"The torrid time we've had with substitution, even though the Department did put in efforts just after Halloween to address that. I think we'll have a difficult time between now and Christmas. But hopefully those measures that government put in yesterday, will begin to take effect in a few weeks. At the moment, there's 1000 children aged between five and 12, who had tested positive in the two weeks up to last Sunday night."
