We're feeling less optimistic about our finances.
The latest sentiment index from KBC Bank has shown that consumers are becoming increasingly worried about rising prices.
However its also found that savings amassed during the pandemic have in many cases been pumped into property, further fuelling house price rises.
Only 5% of consumers say they will spend savings on consumer goods and services this year while 26% say they have already spent savings.
Chief economist with KBC bank Austin Hughes says Irish consumers are starting to feel under pressure.
"What's most worrisome about the sentiment data is the extent that consumers feel the pressures in their won household finances are building.
"As a result, consumers are indicating that they're inclined to pull back on buying big ticket items."
