The HSE is calling on people to quit smoking on World No Tobacco Day today.

It's asking them to use the health authority's QUIT service, which is personalised and free, to kick the habit.

Meanwhile vapers are calling on the Government to embrace vaping as a proven way to help people give up tobacco.

The HSE say there's isn't enough research done on vaping but Founder of Respect Vapers, Joe Dunne says it's worked as replacement therapy in the UK.

"We need to look at reputable bodies in the world, like Public Health England, who have conducted at least 400 studies over the years.

"They keep coming up with the same result - that vaping is at least 95% less harmful than smoking."
