Irish Rail is warning customers of incidents of members of the public wearing high-vis jackets pretending to be ticket inspectors.
It says it has happened on the Northern Commuter/DART line.
Irish Rail is advising passengers to confirm their ID when being approached for tickets or being issued with fines.
