There's a joint concern among professionals over the safety of the country's Children's Disability Services.
Five representative HSCP organisations are united in their fears for clinical governance and risk management.
Children's disability services are for children and teens up to 18 years who have complex needs.
Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists CEO Dr. Marie Ó Mír, says staff aren't being given the right supervision:
"What's happening is that they have eroded the position of a discipline specific manager. So now a physiotherapist or an occupational therapist might be reporting to speech and language therapist, who does not understand the nature of their role, specifically when it comes to children with complex needs. So we, the five professional organisations together, are advocating that staff should be supervised by somebody from their own discipline".
