The Justice Minister says US sanctions imposed on leaders of the Kinahan cartel 'are just the beginning'.
The US Treasury Department has placed sanctions on Christy Kinahan, his sons Daniel and Christopher Junior along with four associates and three businesses linked to the cartel.
It says the cartel 'smuggles deadly narcotics' to Europe, and is involved in international money laundering.
A reward of five million dollars has also been offered for information that can lead to financial interruption or the arrest and conviction of the key gang members.
