Kathryn Thomas has been announced as the new co-presenter of the Rose of Tralee.
It's the first time a woman has taken on hosting duties for TV coverage of the international festival and talent competition.
She'll join Dáithí Ó Sé on-air as 32 roses take to the stage on the 21st and 22nd of August.
Chair of Women in Film and Television Ireland, Dr Susan Liddy, says she thinks the addition of a co-host will help give the show a more modern feel:
"I think Catherine Thomas... she's very popular and very familiar to so many of us. I think she's going to bring a contemporary twist; I think that's for sure. You know, she comes across as a very forthright woman, certainly nobody's fool. And I think having her as a co-presenter is certainly a step in the right direction".
