The Labour Party says the Minister for Education is running out of time to make this year's Leaving Cert a hybrid model.
It has launched a petition, which says students' lives and education are still being adversely affected by Covid.
The party also says the uncertainty around this year's exams is causing undue anxiety among the class groups involved.
Labour Education spokesman Aodhan O'Riordan says the decision needs to be made before the mocks begin in the coming weeks:
"This cohort have gone through enough. They have been adversely affected enough. And this decision was announced in and around this time in 2020 and 2021. So this is the time for the decision to be made, before the mock start, before the oral examinations start, before the practical examinations start. Make the decision now."
